Sense Conflux Artist Residency in the Forest
Nestled on 6.6 acres in the picturesque rural village of Sorento, Illinois, just an hour East of St. Louis and 3 hours Southwest of Chicago, Sense Conflux beckons artists to a secluded haven where creativity thrives in harmony with nature.
Explore our enchanting landscape, a harmonious blend of forest and field with a seasonal creek, stately sycamore, mulberry, and maple trees. Sense Conflux is a remote retreat offering artists the chance to unplug, focus entirely on their craft, and connect deeply with their surroundings.
We invite interdisciplinary artists of all media who can work completely off-grid for the week. Embrace the absence of WiFi for an undisturbed communion with nature and your artistic process.
Sense Conflux provides an on-site coordinator. Artists have the liberty to explore the land and utilize natural resources. While there are no formal workshops, assistance is readily available for those seeking guidance on their creative endeavors.
We cater to the solitary artist while offering the option to socialize. Join like-minded creators, sharing experiences and forging connections in our supportive community. We host 1-5 artists on-site during residency periods. Each artist will have a dedicated primitive campsite.
As a family-friendly program, Sense Conflux welcomes artists to bring their partners and children with pre-approval.
